I am a historian of modern Europe with a focus on the social, cultural, and environmental history of nineteenth- and twentieth-century Germany. I am currently a Max Kade Postdoctoral Fellow at the Berlin Program for Advanced German and European Studies at the Freie Universität.
I received my PhD in History from Vanderbilt University in 2019. I have been a visiting fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin and the German Historical Institute in Washington DC. My research has been supported by the Fulbright Commission, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Council for European Studies, the American Council on Germany, the Leibniz Institute for European History, and the Central European History Society.
